ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed presiding officers (ROs) to strictly adhere to guidelines regarding Form-45 on the upcoming polling day of General Elections 2024.

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja emphasized that Form-45 must be appropriately filled out and signed by both the presiding officers and polling agents of the candidates. He further instructed that once signed, Form-45 should be prominently displayed outside the polling stations.

The CEC warned of severe consequences for presiding officers found in violation of the directives concerning Form-45, underscoring the significance of accurately documenting the final vote count on the form.

Form-45 serves as the official record of the vote count at each polling station, as per the duties assigned to the presiding officer.

With the election campaign concluded on Tuesday night, polling is scheduled to take place from 8 am to 5 pm on Thursday (tomorrow). The ECP has already completed the distribution of 260 million ballot papers to the district returning officers (DROs) for the polls.

Over 276,000 polling booths have been established nationwide to facilitate voting across the country.
