LAHORE: Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab on Sunday issued directives to the Additional Inspector General of Police to make sure that police officials from Special Branch don’t make ‘unauthorized’ entry into the polling stations during by-elections in the province.
The directions came after reports that some personnel from Special Branch were trying to influence the election process.
The Provincial Election Commissioner addressed a letter to Additional Inspector General Police, Punjab and apprise him that they reportedly notice some activities of the officials, which can influence the by-elections.
