DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The District Election Commissioner (DEC) Saturday has issued a schedule on Saturday for a by-election on the vacant national assembly seat (NA-38) DI Khan-I constituency, to be held on the 16th of next month.
As per the notification issued by the returning officer, voting would be held on the general seat of the national assembly on 16th March, whereas the desirable candidates could submit their nomination papers at the office of the returning officer at Al-Waris City, near Bab-e-Dera, during the office hours from 08:00 am till 04:00 pm, from February 06 to February 08.
ECP to display names of candidates on Feb 9
The names of the listed candidates would be displayed on the 09th of February, and the nomination papers would be scrutinized till the 13th of this month.
The notification further said the appeals against the decisions of the returning officer relating to accepting or rejecting the nomination papers could be filed till February 16.
The Appellate Tribunal, by February 20, would tackle the decision on the concerned appeals.
Meanwhile, the revised list of candidates will appear on February 21st.
Moreover, the last date for the withdrawal of nomination papers by the candidature would be February 22, followed by a revised list on the same day. In addition, the election symbols would be allotted to the contesting candidates on 23rd February.
