ISLAMABAD: Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO), Dr Asad Majeed Khan, will arrive in Pakistan on an official visit on Tuesday.
It would be the first visit by the ECO secretary general to Pakistan after assuming the responsibility last year.
During the visit, the secretary-general will call on Pakistan’s leadership, including the president, prime minister, deputy prime minister, and other federal ministers.
ECO’s initiatives
In the meetings, the secretary general will present ECO’s initiatives and his reform agenda aimed at revitalising the organisation and strengthening ECO’s relations with member states as well as Pakistan to expand regional cooperation and development.
Following the engagements in Islamabad, Dr Khan will visit Lahore, where he will join permanent representatives of ECO member states for the 294th meeting of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives, being held in Lahore from 12-15 April 2025.
