ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet has approved technical supplementary grants worth Rs20.2 billion for the Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme (SDGAP) and flood-effected farmers.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar virtually chaired the ECC. The ECC approved TSG of Rs17 billion for finance schemes under the SDGAP, Radio Pakistan reported.
The ECC also approved TSG of Rs3.2 billion for the Ministry of National Food Security and Research to support the flood-affected farmers.

In view of the heavy damage to the agriculture sector by recent floods and to support flood-affected farmers, the ECC approved a technical supplementary grant of Rs3.2 billion and subsequent transfer to the National Disaster Management Authority for procurement and distribution of wheat seed in flood-affected districts.
The ECC said that additional funds of Rs3.4 billion will also be made available to the Ministry of National Food Security & Research subsequently. The forum decided that 50 per cent of funds would be provided by the federal government and 50 per cent by provincial governments.
