ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Turkey has been reportedly postponed, local media reported on Tuesday night.
According to official sources, Shehbaz Sharif was to leave for Turkey on Wednesday to visit quake-hit areas. The sources said that the new data of the Prime Minister’s visit will be announced soon.

Media reports suggest that the visit of the Prime Minister to Turkey has been delayed due to ongoing rehabilitation work and rescue operations in affected provinces of Turkey.
Earlier, an All-Parties Conference scheduled for February 9 was postponed for the second time because of Shairf’s trip to Turkiye to express solidarity with Ankara, which was struck by a deadly quake on Monday.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared a 3-month state of emergency in quake-hit parts of Turkey. He said in televised remarks that they have decided to declare a state of emergency to ensure that rescue and recovery efforts can be carried out rapidly.
