PESHAWAR: A powerful earthquake measuring 5 magnitudes on the Richter scale jolted parts of Pakistan’s northwest and neighbouring Afghanistan on Saturday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said. However, no loss of life or infrastructure has been reported in the country.
Pakistan Meteorological Department, the earthquakes hit several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, spreading fear and panic among the people. The areas include Swat, Peshawar, Malakand, Swabi.

The earthquake also hit parts of Afghanistan including its capital Kabul. So far, no reports of casualties or financial losses have been received, but people, fearing the worst, have come out of their homes reciting prayers.
