ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan organized early voting for the Presidential Elections of Uzbekistan on July 3 and 4, 2023, in Lahore and Karachi. The voting process adhered to the Electoral Code and was open to citizens of Uzbekistan residing in these cities and surrounding areas.
During the polling stations’ operations, voters had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the candidates and their pre-election programs. Additionally, the citizens were provided with the updated Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the new version of which was approved in a national referendum on April 30, 2023.
The Uzbekistan citizens residing in Pakistan acknowledged the significance of the comprehensive reforms undertaken in the country across all aspects of life. They highly appreciated the reforms’ focus on the well-being of citizens, emphasizing the priority given to protecting citizens’ interests within the societal-state framework.
Vote for Uzbekistan’s Future
Participating in the early voting, young compatriots Kamila and Alina Saed stated, “Today we participated in an important political event and voted for the future of our Uzbekistan. We are confident that the President-elect will serve for the further development of our Motherland.”
Mrs. Jamila Arifbaeva expressed gratitude for the opportunity to exercise constitutional rights while residing abroad, highlighting the sense of involvement in Uzbekistan’s reform processes and the responsibility felt towards the future of the homeland.
The citizens also expressed their hopes that the results of the Presidential Elections would lay a strong foundation for the vigorous implementation of goals aimed at building a New Uzbekistan.
Albina Kurtbedinova emphasized the significance of elections as a collective political decision, marking the commencement of a new stage in statehood development. She stated, “Citizens of Uzbekistan in Pakistan carefully monitor the election campaign of all candidates, their proposals for the further development of our country.
The election platform of all candidates is aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of the reforms carried out in the country. They differ only in the mechanisms for achieving a common goal. Based on this, today we made our choice – we voted for the candidate whose proposals are close to our ideas about the future. We are confident that the election results will serve to continue the processes of renewal and development of Uzbekistan.”
Citizens of Uzbekistan can also exercise their voting rights on July 9 (Sunday) at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad.
