ISLAMABAD: Dubai will host a grand celebration marking Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day on August 10, with a large-scale cultural event organised at Expo City by Emirates Loves Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan Association Dubai.
The mega cultural event, titled “Jashn-e-Azaadi Pakistan 2025”, will be the largest-ever Pakistan Day celebration in the United Arab Emirates, with over 40,000 members of the Pakistani community expected to attend, Radio Pakistan reported.
The event will showcase performances by renowned Pakistani artists, including Sahir Ali Bagga, Natasha Baig, and Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, along with regional folk musicians representing the rich cultural diversity of Pakistan’s provinces.
Adding to the excitement, the celebration will feature special appearances by popular film actor Humayun Saeed and Sana Mir, former captain of the Pakistan women’s cricket team and an ICC Hall of Fame inductee.
Organisers describe the event as a tribute to the nation’s past, present, and future, while also strengthening ties among the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE.
It may be recalled that the UAE is home to more than 1.5 million Pakistani expatriates who live and work in the Gulf country and send back more than $5 billion in remittances to the South Asian country annually.
