Dry Weather to Prevail in the Country

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather in most parts of the country, while hot during the daytime in plain areas.

Maximum temperatures recorded

The Met Office recorded the maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius in Mithi, and 39 degrees °C in Shaheed Benazirabad, Tando Jam, Chhor, and 37 degrees Celsius in Thatta, Hyderabad, Lasbella, Rohri, Padidan, Dadu, and Sakrand.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of the country.

 Air Quality and Weather

As per the air quality index (AQI), the air quality in Rawalpindi stands at 179 US AQI, 188 in Faisalabad, 206 in Lahore, 132 in Mangla, and 168 in Muridke. In Sindh, the air quality is 146 in Karachi, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 117. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, air quality is 161 in Peshawar and 72 in Abbottabad.

As per the PMD, a maximum of 15 degrees °C temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 19°C in Lahore, 21°C in Karachi, 15°C in Peshawar, 12°C in Quetta, and 9°C in Gilgit.
