ISLAMABAD: Eminent Educationist Prof. Dr. Nassir Mahmood, took charge as Acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here Wednesday.
According to reports received from the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, his appointment as Acting VC will be considered for three months initially or until the slot has been covered for permanent appointment.
It is worth mentioning here that at present Dr. Nasir Mahmood is the senior-most Dean of the Allama Iqbal Open University.
Dr Nasir received his Ph.D. degree from Gakugei University, Tokyo, Japan, in Educational Psychology and his Post Doctorate degree in Science Education from the University of Leeds, UK.
He has worked in the field of education at different senior levels. He is currently serving as a Professor and Dean at, the Faculty of Education at Allama Iqbal Open University.
Moreover, Dr. Nasir has got some thirty-two of his research papers published in national and international journals and has presented papers in more than fifty seminars and conferences both at national and international levels. – APP
