WASHINGTON: Former US President Donald Trump has raised about $20 million in the past few weeks, a period that roughly concurs with his indictment in courts connected to his claims that the 2020 polls were stolen from him, his campaign spokesperson said on Saturday.

Since appearing in jail on Thursday to have his mugshot taken in a fraud case in Atlanta, Trump brought in $7.1 million, Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung said on his social media account.

Earlier on Thursday, he decried a “travesty of justice” after his formal arrest on election charges in Georgia, calling the case against him “election interference.”  ” We did nothing wrong, ” Trump told reporters at the Fulton County Jail. He said, “What they are doing is election meddling,”. The former President did not specify who he was blaming for interference, but he has regularly criticized President Biden for allegedly hindering his reelection campaign.

Trump was also photographed for a police mug shot following his arrest on Thursday at a Jail in Georgia. The former President posted the mug shot released by the Fulton County sheriff’s office on his Social media platform with the subtitle “Election Interference” and “Never Surrender” followed by a link to his campaign website.
