NEW YORK: Pakistan will face a do-or-die situation in the T20 World Cup 2024 when they will play against Canada in a Group A match at New York’s Nassau County International Stadium today.

Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, are coming on the back of consecutive defeats to US and arch rival India, and because of that, their chances of qualifying for the Super Eight round of the T20 World Cup 2024 look quite slim.

Canada have also played two matches, winning one and losing one in the mega event. They started with a seven-wicket defeat to co-hosts US on the opening day of the mega event, but followed that up with a spectacular bowling display to beat Ireland by 12 runs.

A win for Canadian side against Pakistan will keep their hopes alive, whereas a defeat for Pakistan would mean they will all but be eliminated.

For Canada, Shreyas Movva and Nicholas Kirton have been their most impressive batsmen so far, but they would hope for a much-improved display against the Men in Green Pakistan side who will look to improve on all departments including bowling.

Pakistan and Canada match will be played today at 7:30pm Pakistan Standard Time. To claim their place in the Super eight round, the Men in Green will not only have to win group matches but also need to improve their run rate.

In case the US are defeated by Ireland and India, the match between Ireland and the Men in Green on June 16 will become very important.
