ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cricket team’s captain Babar Azam, has hit back at critics and has maintained that his focus is on winning the upcoming matches instead of replying to criticism. From 9 January, Pakistan is scheduled to play a three-match ODI series.
Speaking to a Pakistani TV channel, Azam stated his responsibility to “play cricket and enjoy it”. He added that he knows his game and responsibility regarding captaincy or batting.
Babar Azam: Do not need to satisfy anyone
Thus, he added further that he does not need to make anyone “happy” as his job was to “win matches” for Pakistan.
Skipper Babar Azam refrained from disclosing the playing XI for the first ODI being played against the Kiwis on 9 January.
Azam revealed that he still has not checked out the pitch, so only after analyzing it, the best eleven be played.
He stated that the Pakistani team will try to maintain their good performance in white-ball cricket.
In the last 3 ODI series, Pakistan have defeated the Netherlands, West Indies, and Australia.
