SRINAGAR: The Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has urged foreign diplomats to avoid falling into the Indian government’s trap of promoting a false narrative of normalcy in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, this statement comes in response to India’s invitation to foreign diplomats during the second phase of its contentious elections, which the DFP claims aim to legitimize its occupation amid stringent restrictions.

DFP spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal, in a statement issued in Srinagar, called the Indian government’s actions an attempt to mislead the international community. He urged that instead of participating in staged tours, independent observers should be allowed to monitor the situation.

Iqbal emphasized that the elections are designed to divert Kashmiris’ attention from their ongoing freedom movement and highlighted India’s history of using guided tours to obscure the real issues at hand.
