ISLAMABAD: Dense fog again disturbed normal routine life in the cities of Punjab and Sindh during the night between Sunday and Monday. Thick fog also affected traffic flow in several cities of Sindh and Punjab.
As per the Motorway spokesperson, Motorway M-3 has been closed for traffic from Faizpur Interchange to Darkhana; Motorway M-2 Section from Lahore to Khanqah Dogran; Motorway M-5 from Rahim Yar Khan to Rohri; Motorway M-4 from Abdul Hakim to Faisalabad, and Motorway M-11 from Lahore to Sialkot.
The Motorway police have asked the drivers to use GT Road for travelling. They have also advised the drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET) has forecast dry and cold weather in most parts of the country, While very cold in northern areas and north Balochistan during the next 24 hours.
Foggy conditions disrupting life
Foggy conditions are likely to persist in upper Sindh and Punjab during morning hours and night.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of the country.

The air quality in Lahore is 299 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 162, 189 in Muridke, 172 in Rawalpindi, and 163 in Sialkot, 367 in Faisalabad. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 260 US AQI, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 160. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, air quality is 302 in Peshawar and 95 in Abbottabad.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met), a maximum of 8 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 11°C in Lahore, 18°C in Karachi, 5°C in Peshawar, and 0.5°C in Quetta and -3.5°C in Gilgit.
