LAHORE: Over the last 24 hours, Punjab’s Health Department has reported an alarming surge in dengue cases, confirming 11 new patients.
The total number of confirmed cases in the province has escalated to 15,113, with Lahore being the hardest hit, registering 6,983 cases this year alone, including seven newly reported cases yesterday.
Multan is also contending with the dengue outbreak, as four new patients were confirmed recently. Currently, 11 individuals with dengue are receiving treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with Lahore district hospitals treating three patients.
The winter cold appears ineffective against dengue, prompting worries about the virus’s resilience in diverse weather conditions. Authorities emphasize the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to combat the ongoing outbreak.
