PESHAWAR: The authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has declared five districts as high-risk zones due to surge in dengue fever cases, local media reported on Tuesday.
According to the authorities in the Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda and Battagram districts were the risky zones in dengue fever spread.
Over all the number of people infected with dengue virus has touched to 165 in the province. The health authorities said 38 cases of dengue virus were reported in Peshawar district followed by Mardan with 32 cases, Swabi 19 cases, Charsadda 14 cases while 112 cases were reported in Battagram.

Meanwhile dengue fever cases have also been reported from 20 districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In the last couple of days few cases of dengue in some of the districts including Bannu, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Khyber, Tor Ghar and Haripur were also reported.
The caretaker advisor for health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed relevant authorities to strict preventive measures in sensitive districts of the province.
