WASHINGTON: Delta Air Lines, one of the major airlines of the United States on Monday announced that it was halting all flights to Israel until the end of the month due to Israel-Palestine Escalation.
The company said it continued to monitor events in the region and had taken a difficult decision to cancel its Tel Aviv flights until October 31, 2023.
It added the company was concerned about those who were impacted by the decision and especially those who were trying to depart Tel Aviv.
Earlier American Airlines, Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates and Ryanair and others already canceled their flights to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport.
American Airlines on Monday said it operated two flights from Tel Aviv on Saturday and Sunday to help customers and crew members at the airport.
Tel Aviv flights to remain suspended
It said the Tel Aviv flights to remain suspended until conditions get better.
Israeli flag carrier El Al on Sunday announced that it was operating its Tel Aviv flights for the time being but some of flights operated by its foreign partners had been suspended.
El Al said it was continuing with its flight operations in accordance with the guidelines of the Israeli security forces.

On Saturday Hamas resistance fighters stormed Israel with barrage of rocket fire. Since then, the situation is tense in the beleaguered region.
The Palestinian health ministry reported that 560 people have been martyred, and another 2,900 have been injured since the launch of Israeli airstrikes.
Humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza are facing substantial challenges in delivering aid and medical assistance due to the intensifying conflict. Amid the crisis, Israel announced on Saturday night its decision to cut electricity supply to the besieged territory. Gaza, home to approximately two million people, has been enduring an Israeli blockade encompassing air, land, and sea routes.
