Defence Day: Week-Long Cultural Activities Begin in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah has inaugurated a week-long cultural activity being held to mark Pakistan’s Defence Day.

A special display of warfare artifacts opened at Islamabad Museum located at Sir Syed Memorial.

Jamal Shah talking media on the occasion emphasized the importance of the participation of children and youth in the significant cultural and literary activities.

National Heritage and Culture Division and its relevant departments will organize a series of cultural activities and events to highlight the importance of patriotism and sacrifices.

The minister noted that the cultural activities included stage plays, puppet shows, live performances, musical concerts, exhibitions, seminars and tableaus.

 Defence Day an opportunity to demonstrate National unity

He said that Defence Day is an opportunity for Pakistanis to reaffirm their commitment towards National unity.

He said that 6th September is an important day in the history of Pakistan and in this regards all the departments of the ministry have planned special cultural events to highlight the sacrifices of our national heroes.

He also said that a mega musical event of national songs would also be held in which well-known singers would perform national songs to mark the day in an appropriate manner.
