KYIV: President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that the death toll from a Russian artillery strike on a supermarket in the Ukrainian town of Kostiantynivka has risen to four. At least more 24 people were also injured in the strikes.
Zelensky stated on X that rescue operations are ongoing, with efforts being made to save those trapped under the rubble.
Ukraine Claims Success in Shooting Down Russian Drones
The Ukrainian Air Force commander reported that all 27 Russian attack drones launched overnight against various locations in Ukraine were successfully intercepted.
The commander noted that Ukrainian Defence Forces, including mobile fire units, anti-aircraft missile systems, and electronic warfare assets, shot down the drones in the Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The drones used in the attacks were identified as Iranian-designed Shahed-136 and Shahed-131 models.
