PERTH, Australia: On the second day of the opening Test in Perth, debutant Aamer Jamal made a significant impact, taking six wickets as Pakistan bowled out Australia for 487.

The hosts had resumed their innings at 346-5, with opener David Warner having scored a defiant 164 on the first day.

As play resumed, Mitchell Marsh, who was on 16, and Alex Carey, who was on 15, aimed to bolster Australia’s total. However, an untroubled Marsh, eyeing a fourth Test century, was bowled by paceman Khurram Shahzad for 90 on the first ball after lunch. Shahzad concluded his bowling performance with figures of 2-83.

The real star of the day, though, was the debutant Aamer Jamal, who captured the spotlight with an outstanding bowling performance, securing six wickets for 111 runs. His impactful debut has significantly contributed to Pakistan’s efforts in the Test match.

Pakistan, historically, has faced challenges in Test series in Australia, having never won a series in the country. Additionally, the team has struggled to secure a Test victory in Australia since 1995. The ongoing Test series presents an opportunity for Pakistan to change this narrative and make a mark in Australian cricket history.

As the teams prepare for the remainder of the Test, Aamer Jamal’s remarkable debut has added a new dimension to Pakistan’s performance, offering hope and excitement for the team and its supporters.
