ISLAMABAD: Former Australian cricketing great and current Karachi Kings captain, David Warner, has confirmed his availability for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.
As reported by Australian media, Warner expressed confidence in the league’s restart and is set to return to Pakistan to honour his commitment to the tournament.
Fellow Australian cricketer Ben McDermott is also preparing to re-join the squad in Pakistan for the remainder of the competition.
The PSL was temporarily suspended due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, including a drone-related incident near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which raised serious security concerns.
PSL’s resumption
In response, several foreign players had departed Pakistan, casting doubt over the league’s continuation. There were initial discussions about relocating the remaining fixtures to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
However, following a ceasefire agreement and subsequent instructions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) opted to conclude the tournament on home soil.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi officially announced the revised schedule on Tuesday via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. He confirmed that PSL 10 will resume on 17 May and culminate in the grand final on 25 May.
Remaining fixtures
This decision follows a series of meetings between the PCB and franchise representatives aimed at ensuring the safe and seamless completion of the league’s final eight fixtures.
Meanwhile, Warner—among the most high-profile and costly picks in the PSL draft—has endured a challenging debut season. In eight appearances, he has amassed 164 runs at an average of 20.50, though he has maintained a brisk strike rate of 150.45.
The Karachi Kings currently sit second in the PSL 10 standings with 10 points, having secured five victories from their eight matches.
