KABUL: The terrorist group Daesh has claimed responsibility for the attack on Pakistan’s Head of Mission at the embassy premises in Kabul. Pakistan decried the attack as an assassination bid.
A security guard of Pakistan’s mission was injured in Friday’s attack.
Daesh’s regional chapter, in a statement, said it had “attacked the apostate Pakistani Head of Mission and his security guards.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared the attack “an assassination bid” on the ambassador and called for an investigation into the attack.

Embassy attack suspect arrested
A spokesman of Kabul police said one suspect had been nabbed, and two light weapons had been seized after security forces raided a nearby commercial building.
Pakistan’s mission official told a foreign news agency that a single attacker “came behind the houses’ cover and opened firing,” fortunately the head of mission and other staff members were unhurt.

Pakistan urges Afghanistan to ensure embassy’s security
