ISLAMABAD: Czech Ambassador to Pakistan Ladislav Steinhübel has called on Pakistan’s Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, at the Finance Division on Monday.
Dr. Shamshad Akhtar extended a warm welcome to Alfred Ladislav Steinhübel and congratulated him on assuming his post in Pakistan.
The Finance Minister emphasized the significance of bilateral relations and noted the ongoing development in ties between the Czech Republic and Pakistan.
She expressed optimism that the newly established Joint Economic Commission (JEC) would serve as an international platform for fostering enhanced commercial relations between the two nations.
In response, Alfred Ladislav Steinhübel thanked the Finance Minister and expressed anticipation for the forthcoming JEC meeting, aiming to provide essential information to boost trade relations. He highlighted the interest of Czech companies in collaborating within the Mining, Energy, and Chemical sectors.
The Finance Minister welcomed this interest, assuring that the government would facilitate business-to-business contacts. Furthermore, she sought collaboration in higher education.
The Finance Minister also provided insights into the government’s undertaken reforms geared towards achieving macroeconomic stability in the country.
