ISLAMABAD: Lok Virsa will hold a three-day Kashmir Cultural Festival to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, from February 3-5.
The festival will be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan and the Federal Directorate of Education at Shakarparian.
The festival’s main attractions include Kashmiri Artisans at Work, Kashmiri folk crafts, Kashmiri patriotic songs performances, Kashmiri folk paintings by youth, Kashmiri folk musical performances, Kashmiri cuisines, a screening of video documentaries on Kashmir, a photographic exhibition on Kashmir, and many other attractions.
Festival aimed at highlighting Kashmir issue
The organizers said the event aimed to highlight the Kashmir issue and promote cultural heritage through soft expressions of crafts and art prepared by Kashmiri artisans.
The activities have been organized to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir struggling for their right to self-determination in the Indian Occupied Kashmir through purely a cultural perspective.
“A special exhibition of Kashmiri arts and crafts in different specialized craft fields like embroidery, papier mache, gabba, jewelry, weaving, etc., will be part of the display. Live folkloric performances by folk musicians, instrumentalists, and folk artists will also be presented through inspirational and national songs to project the Kashmir cause.”
“Since music has no language, its melodious tones reach hearts and can convey any message effectively,” said the organizers.
