LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formed a high-powered Cricket Technical Committee (CTC), with former captain Misbah-ul-Haq as its head, alongside Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez.
Cricket Technical Committee’s Roadmap
This high-profile committee role will be key in advising the PCB on various aspects, including domestic structure, scheduling, playing conditions, national selection committees, coaches’ appointments, contracts for players, and plans for umpire, referee, and curator development.
The technical committee will also have the authority to invite additional cricket experts and will directly report to Zaka Ashraf, head of the PCB Management Committee.
Junaid Zia, who is the acting Director of Domestic Cricket Operations, has been included in the committee. Zia will serve as an ex-officio member, and Usman Tasleem as the ex-officio secretary on the committee.
Zaka Ashraf, Chairperson of the PCB Management Committee, warmly welcomed Misbah-ul-Haq, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez on board, acknowledging their vast cricketing knowledge and understanding of the modern game’s requirements. Calling domestic cricket a foundation for any cricketing nation, Zaka Ashraf said that these former cricket stars possess great knowledge of modern-day cricket. He believes that the expertise of Misbah, Inzamam, and Hafeez can create a strong framework to nurture and produce exceptional cricketers.
Misbah-ul-Haq, who had earlier served as the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, expressed his honor in leading this team of highly respected individuals, each having served Pakistan cricket for many years. Despite the challenges, Misbah is confident that the committee’s collective experience and knowledge will positively impact, resulting in valuable recommendations to improve cricket at all levels, from grassroots to the highest echelons.
