ISLAMABAD: India and Pakistan recorded commanding victories at the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup on Tuesday, setting up a crucial clash between the two rivals that could decide a semi-final place.
The 2026 ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup is being played in Zimbabwe and Namibia, with matches hosted across venues in both countries from January 15 to February 6, 2026
India remained unbeaten after a dominant 204-run win over hosts Zimbabwe in their first Super Six match. Vihaan Malhotra led the charge with an unbeaten 109, while Abhigyan Kundu added 61 as India posted an imposing 352 for eight.
Zimbabwe’s chase collapsed early, and despite contributions from Leeroy Chiwaula (62) and Kian Blignaut (37), they were bowled out for 148. Udhav Mohan and Ayush Mhatre each took three wickets as India sealed a comprehensive victory.
Eight-wicket win
Pakistan also stayed in contention with an eight-wicket win over New Zealand. The Kiwi side was skittled for just 110, with Abdul Subhan claiming four for 11 and Ali Raza taking three wickets.
Pakistan’s chase was swift, with Sameer Minhas unbeaten on 76, striking the winning runs with a six.
The results leave Pakistan on four points, two behind India and England in Super Six Group 2. India and Pakistan will meet on Sunday in what could become a decisive match for a semi-final spot, with net run-rate also likely to play a key role.
