ISLAMABAD: Neil Hawkins, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, met Pakistan National Women’s Cricket Team in Karachi on Thursday and wished them good fortunes ahead of their tour to Australia.
The reigning champion Australia will host Pakistan from 16 January for an ODI and T20 series to be played in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, and Hobart. The ODI series is part of the 2020-25 ICC Women’s Championship.
Australia warmly welcomes Pakistani Women team
Addressing the event, the High Commissioner said it was a great source of privilege for him to meet the Pakistan National Women’s Cricket Team. Both countries share a passion for cricket. He wished the team a fantastic day in his country and said that Australia will warmly receive the visiting team.
He voiced hope that fans will enjoy fabulous cricket as he invited visitors from Pakistan to watch the series in the stadium.
The High Commissioner said Australia was committed to promoting gender equality and inclusivity in sports and would like to see the talented women go head-to-head with the Australian women’s team.
