KARACHI: Pakistan’s Information Minister Murtaza Solangi said on Friday that the government’s priority is to establish a conducive atmosphere for the upcoming general elections.

In a meeting with Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh, retired Justice Maqbool Baqir, the Information Minister emphasized that the caretaker administration is committed to upholding the constitution and ensuring that no one faces discrimination.

During the meeting, they discussed crucial matters, including the assurance of conducting elections that are free, fair, and transparent. They also focused on providing necessary support to the media throughout the electoral process.

 

Media’s Vital Role in Ensuring Free and Fair Elections

Minister Solangi emphasized that ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections is a shared responsibility among various institutions. He highlighted the pivotal role of the media in connecting with the Election Commission of Pakistan, serving as a bridge.

Solangi underscored the critical importance of authentic reporting during elections, as it plays a key role in delivering accurate information to the public.

Both leaders reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to cooperating fully in conducting elections that are characterized by freedom and transparency.
