Crackdown Against Electricity Theft Continues in Peshawar, FIRs Registered

PESHAWAR: The district administration of Peshawar, in a joint crackdown with WAPDA officials on Tuesday, disconnected dozens of illegal electricity connections and lodged FIRs against those involved.

Upon the directives of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Shah Fahd, a crackdown operation is currently underway against electricity stealing and the Kunda mafia in Peshawar.

The district administration has started a joint operation in coordination with WAPDA authorities in areas including Phando, Jameel Chowk, Tehkal, and Kakshal to curb electricity stealing.

Several FIRs have been lodged against electricity stealers as part of this operation, and legal action would be taken against the cable mafia.

DC Peshawar Shah Fahd stressed that under the supervision of the district administration and in collaboration with WAPDA officials, the operation to combat electricity stealing is successfully underway in Peshawar.

Crackdown in Other Areas

He said that stringent actions would be taken against individuals engaged in criminal activities, and the operation would be extended to other parts of the provincial capital until electricity theft is completely eradicated.
