CPEC Pivotal for Pakistan’s Economic Development: Pervez Khattak

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians (PTIP) Chairman and former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, acknowledged the unparalleled friendship between Pakistan and China and the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

During his visit to the Chinese Cultural Center in Peshawar, Khattak discussed various aspects of Pakistan-China relations. Khattak commended the role of the China Window in promoting Pakistan-China friendship and emphasized that CPEC is pivotal for Pakistan’s economic development. He anticipated that the project would generate employment opportunities and foster economic and social progress in the province.

Regarding the current economic situation in the country, Khattak attributed inflation to the lack of proper economic documentation. He stressed the importance of taxation to fuel economic development and encouraged investors to invest in Pakistan while emphasizing the need to expand the taxpayer base.

Pervez Khattak Claims May 9 Events Were Orchestrated

Pervez Khattak maintained that the events of May 9 were executed according to a well-considered plan. He asserted that the PTI Chairman, Imran Khan, had mentally prepared the people for these events, and the cases related to them are currently under the jurisdiction of the courts, which will determine the course of events.

Khattak stressed the importance of focusing on the country’s development and the welfare of its people rather than engaging in confrontations with institutions. He expressed optimism about the success of PTI Parliamentarians in the upcoming elections.

Referring to the events of May 9, Khattak revealed that he had reviewed video footage and concluded that they were orchestrated at the behest of Imran Khan. He expressed his disapproval of such events and emphasized the need for unity among PTI members.

Khattak clarified that the establishment of PTI parliamentarians was not intended to tarnish Imran Khan’s image or vie for the role of provincial chief minister. Instead, he emphasized their commitment to working diligently for the betterment of their province and the nation as a whole. He urged unity and cooperation among all stakeholders to strengthen the country.
