CPEC Energy Projects Playing Key Role in Addressing Pakistan’s Energy Crisis: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) energy projects have played a pivotal role in overcoming the energy crisis in Pakistan.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Sunday he said Pakistan has a long and strong friendship with China and both countries have stood together in all testing times.

The minister added the friendship between Pakistan and China is passing on from generation to generation. He said the CPEC energy projects have played an important role in addressing the energy crisis in Pakistan.

The Information Minister noted that the inflation rate has reduced to 6.9 percent in the country, and the policy rate has also come down.  He said the government is introducing economic reforms in the country.

Attaullah Tarar thanked Chinese leadership and companies for extending support to Pakistan for achieving economic growth.

He was hopeful that Phase Two of China Pakistan Economic Corridor would prove to be a game changer for the whole region through the establishment of industrial zones.

He added Chinese Premier is visiting Pakistan after eleven years to attend the SCO summit, which is a matter of great pride and jubilation for the people of Pakistan.

Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb Speaking on this occasion, said China played a major role in advancing energy projects in Pakistan through CPEC.

He said Pakistan’s economy is moving in a positive direction. He said China’s development is exemplary for the rest of the world.
