ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Information Minister, Murtaza Solangi, emphasized the monumental success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during his speech on Monday. He highlighted that CPEC has played a pivotal role in advancing various sectors in Pakistan, including road infrastructure, the power sector, and industrial zones, amounting to a total investment of $62 billion.
Addressing the participants at the CPEC Art Exhibition, a collaborative effort by Behria University and China Media Group, Solangi expressed his satisfaction at the strengthening relationship between Pakistan and China, which he observed as a positive development.
The minister emphasized the paramount role of people in every initiative undertaken by the government, underscoring the profound impact of arts and culture on human lives. He commended the inclusion of interactive media alongside traditional art pieces at the exhibition and hoped that this approach would engage and educate the younger generation about the significance of the Pakistan-China friendship and its reflection in the CPEC projects.
Solangi stressed the commitment of the current government in actively supporting CPEC projects by ensuring effective policy implementation. He also mentioned that Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar had embarked on a trip to China to represent Pakistan at the Third Belt and Road Forum, coinciding with the ten-year celebration of CPEC.
ML-1 Project Under CPEC Road to Progress
Murtaza Solangi anticipated positive developments in various areas, including road infrastructure, environmental initiatives, technological advancements, export processing zones, special economic zones, and the ML-1 project.
He further noted that the caretaker regime was dedicated to improving the well-being of the people, citing the reduction in petroleum product prices as a source of joy for many citizens.
Solangi underlined the government’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of reduced petroleum prices are passed on to the public and mentioned efforts to reduce transport fares in collaboration with provincial governments and district administrations.
