ISLAMABAD: Abdul Qadir Patel, Minister for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, said on Thursday that the government has installed surveillance systems at airports and entry points across the country to prevent the Covid sub-variant from entering Pakistan.
Addressing a meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the minister said that the role of border and health services has been strengthened for the purpose.
He reiterated that the situation was completely under control and that the general public should avoid listening to rumors.
The minister said that the Covid-19 case positivity ratio is just 0.3 to 0.5 in Pakistan as 90 percent of the population has been vaccinated.
Rapid tests, screening in surveillance system
He said that in the surveillance system, there would be a screening and rapid tests system for the arriving passengers at all airports.
