ISLAMABAD: All the Covid-19 indicators in Pakistan show an increase in the covid infections as the country witnessed another fatality over the previous day (Wednesday).
In Pakistan, 5,557 tests were performed over the past 24 hours (Wednesday), and the positivity rate increased to 3.02%. There were 23 individuals in need of critical care.
Infections increase to 1,578,767
The number of deaths in the country increased to 30,647, according to NIH data, while the overall number of infections increased to 1,578,767, owing to the addition of 168 new cases. Death caused by Covid was reported in Punjab.
The details showed that Karachi reported the highest number of new infections, 40 with a 6.11% positivity ratio, with 655 tests conducted in the city.
Islamabad also saw a sharp rise in Covid cases and reported 20 new cases during the last 24 hours with a ratio of 5.51 percent, out of 363 tests conducted in the city.
