COVID-19 cases rise as Russia reports 5918 while Myanmar has 10 new cases

MOSCOW, YANGON: COVID-19 cases rise again amid cold weather as Russia has reported around six thousand new cases while Myanmar has reported ten new cases of the deadly virus.

Official Monitoring Response of Russia said that the number of total cases has reached 21,574,764 while the number of people who recovered rose to 20,982,028.

Ministry of Health Myanmar said in a statement that health workers tested 6,427 people for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the daily positive rate is 0.16%.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the country’s death toll from COVID-19 remained unchanged at 19,488 on Sunday, with no new deaths reported in the past 24 hours, the ministry said.

The total number of patients who have recovered from the pandemic in the country reached 607,681, including 66 new recoveries on Sunday.

The country vaccinated more than 37.52 million people against COVID-19 on Saturday, according to Ministry of Health data.

The number includes more than 30.76 million people aged 18 and over and more than 6.75 million people under the age of 18, the ministry said.

The Southeast Asian country has identified its first case of COVID-19 in March 2020.
