NEW YORK: A judge presiding over Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial in New York has directed his daughter Ivanka Trump to testify in the case, Western media reported on Friday.
Ivanka, 41, was earlier named in the lawsuit against Trump and was later dropped as a defendant.
Trump and his sons Don Jr and Eric are accused of increasing the value of the real estate of the Trump Organization for years to get more favorable insurance terms and bank loans.
Judge Arthur Engoron dismissed a move by Trump’s attorneys to quash a subpoena issued to Ivanka Trump by Attorney General Letitia James but gave her the right to appeal against the decision until November 1.

Ivanka Trump was a senior advisor to her father when he was the president of the US.
Trump despite his cases is still the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Ivanka left the Trump Organization in January 2017, when her father became president and she and her husband, Jared Kushner, both joined the US administration.
Before joining the US administration, she was an executive vice president in the Trump Organization and was in close contact with one of the group’s biggest lenders, Deutsche Bank.
The 77-year-old Trump and his sons will be testified at some point during the trial being held in Manhattan.
Trump has repeatedly condemned the trial as a Democratic witch hunt aimed to derail his 2024 White House bid.
