ISLAMABAD: A nationwide five-day anti-polio campaign commences today with the aim of eradicating this debilitating disease.

In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, over 7.4 million children under five will receive polio drops. The campaign involves 31,000 teams dedicated to vaccinating children.

Similarly, in Balochistan, more than eleven thousand teams will conduct a door-to-door drive to inoculate 2.5 million children under five. In Quetta, Pishin, and Qilla Abdullah, vaccination efforts have been ongoing since Friday.

Sindh will deploy over 80 thousand workers to vaccinate over 10 million children across 30 districts. The Sindh chief secretary has urged the Health Department to ensure polio drops are administered at railway stations and bus terminals. Teams will also be present at bus stops, railway stations, Afghan refugee camps, and other public spaces to ensure every child receives the vaccine.
