ISLAMABAD: A countrywide anti-Polio campaign of varied duration will start on Monday to administer vaccine drops to kids under five years age, local media reported on Sunday.
During the drive, different Polio teams of health department will go door to door in all 159 districts of Pakistan to administer vaccine to the children under five years age.
In Punjab province, during a week-long polio drive around twenty-three million children will be administered polio drops, authorities said.
Countrywide Anti-polio Campaign to Kick Off on Monday
The health authorities have declared Faisalabad, Lahore, and Multan as most sensitive cities in this connection.
In Sindh province, about 10.03 million kids up to the five years of age will be administered with anti-polio vaccine drops during a week-long campaign.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, more than seven point four million children up to five years of age will be administered vaccine during five-day drive.
In Balochistan province about 2.5 million children up to five years of age would be administered vaccine during week-long polio campaign.
In Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), more than two hundred fifty thousand children will be vaccinated during the drive. Authorities said that the parents can access to helpline 1166 in case a polio team does not visit any home.
