ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Council of Senior Scholars has urged the Afghan authorities to reverse its decision barring women from education and allow Afghanistan’s women to have the right to learn in institutions.
According to senior scholars, it is allowed under Islamic law to prevent women from studying.
Elaborating the Council added that Islam for human beings, whether male or female, Islam has explained and preserved their duties and rights.

The Islamic scholars went on to say that as the legal literature encourages and calls for equal study for both women and men, it needs to be understood that the right to education for women has been preserved by the religion of Islam.
