ISLAMABAD: Tauseef H. Farooqi, Chairman OF Pakistan National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) said on Thursday that NEPRA is a responsible and transparent organization that believes in zero-tolerance towards corruption.
He said that for the eradication of corruption, NEPRA was providing technical support and expertise to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a number of power sector cases and will do so on in future, if required.
He appreciated NAB’s efforts of waging “Jihad” against corruption and said that NEPRA will extend its support for the eradication of this evil.

Corruption-free Pakistan topic of seminar
He was addressing a seminar organized by NEPRA in collaboration with NAB titled “Our Faith, Corruption-free Pakistan” here in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.
The main aim of the seminar was to create awareness against different manifestations of graft such as bribery, nepotism, misuse of authority, etc. which causes socio-economic and governance-related problems.
Farooqi also shed light on various efforts especially digitization and online availability of the Authority’s decisions and determinations for the information of all for the sake of transparency and information.

Corruption manifested in different forms
On the occasion, DG NAB A&P Division (HQ) Shahzad Saleem also highlighted different manifestations of graft and NAB’s efforts through its various strategies in eradicating this evil through multiple ways such as creating awareness, prevention, and enforcement of measures.
He said that these efforts will not succeed until and unless all segments of society join their hands with them against this menace. He also appreciated the efforts of the NEPRA in their technical support as well as in organizing this seminar.
In the end, both organizations expressed their support for eliminating graft in Pakistan
