MAKKAH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has received massive appreciation from many competitors at the 43rd King Abdulaziz International Competition for interpreting, reciting, and memorizing the Qur’an and supporting the holy book’s memorizers and holy Qur’an.
The candidates’ excitement at being selected for this international event, which unites memorizers of the holy Qur’an from numerous countries, confirmed their preparedness for the final qualification.
They expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Saudi Crown Prince for his care of the holy Qur’an and its memorization enthusiasts, as well as for their kind hospitality and the well-run tournament.
Under the supervision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the competition is run by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance in the Grand Mosque from Friday, 9 Safar, until Wednesday, 21 Safar.
Russian contestant Khalid Ali, who performed Umrah rituals for the first time, could not contain his happiness when he witnessed the holy Kaaba. Ali’s participation in this tournament and a trip to the Grand Mosque fulfilled his lifelong goal.
Burkinabe Abdul Jabbar Saleh claimed that the competition shows how much the Kingdom and its rulers value the holy Qur’an and its reciters.
Germany’s Moaz Khalid, one of the competitors, says he is honored to have the opportunity to compete in one of the world’s most challenging competitions of this kind. —SPA/APP
