ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry on Saturday submitted an application to the Supreme Court for the early hearing of the contempt of court case against the former prime minister Imran Khan.
The ministry told the apex court that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman can give his supporters the call for the long march at any time and would seek to besiege or attack Islamabad with the help of PTI activists. Therefore, it should hear the case against him at the earliest.
It is to be noted that the Ministry of Interior had filed a contempt of court plea against Imran Khan on October 12, requesting the court to implement its guidelines in the May 25 sit-in case.
