LAHORE: The Lahore police have devised a comprehensive traffic plan for the Pakistan Super League (PSL-9) matches commencing on Saturday, February 17. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Amara Athar, announced the deployment of four Superintendents of Police (SPs), 12 District Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and 90 inspectors to ensure smooth traffic flow during the matches.
Athar revealed that over 900 wardens will be deployed at Gaddafi Stadium, with designated routes for teams and alternative paths established.
City traffic police will extend a traditional welcome to cricket enthusiasts, ensuring operational routes along Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard Road, and Gulberg. Athar assured that while most roads will remain open during matches, some may experience temporary closures for team movements.
Athar emphasized the provision of real-time traffic updates via the Rasta App and Rasta FM 88.6, with a helpline (15) available for further assistance. The opening match between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United will kick off PSL-9 on February 17 in Lahore.
The tournament will span across four cities—Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi—with the final showdown set for March 18 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
