Completion of TAPI Project Govt’s Top Priority: Pakistan’s Minister

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Dr. Musadik Malik on Tuesday said that the timely completion of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, crucial to meet the energy needs, is the government’s top priority.

The Turkmenistan Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov and Petroleum Minister Dr. Musadik Malik held extensive talks in the federal capital and discussed various means of enhancing bilateral trade, including the TAPI project.

During the meeting, Dr. Malik underscored the significance of the TAPI gas pipeline project in meeting Pakistan’s energy needs and assured that the government would ensure the continuity of work on the project.

Ambassador Movlamov informed the minister about the upcoming Turkmenistan Energy Forum scheduled to be held in Paris next month. He extended an invitation to Dr. Malik to attend the forum.
