ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting to review the current state of hockey in Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by Government of Pakistan (Office of the Deputy Prime Minister), the meeting was attended by the Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), Minister for Information, Secretary IPC, DG Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), President of Pakistan Hockey Federation, and senior officials from ministries of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Pakistanis.

Recognising hockey as the national sport, the committee stressed the need to strengthen institutional support, sustained development, and renewed focus at all levels.
Dar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to extending full support for the promotion of hockey at both national and international levels, the statement said.
