RAWALPINDI: Saqib Manan, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to ensure the security and safety of the tourists coming to the scenic city of Murree to enjoy the weather as it received snowfall.
He also instructed traffic police to facilitate tourists by regulating traffic.
The commissioner advised the tourists to take all precautionary measures while traveling to Murree and adjoining areas.
A spokesman of the Commissioner’s Office said that a control room has been set up in Jinnah Hall Murree and the tourists can contact in case of any emergency on the following numbers 051-9269016, 051-9269015 and 051-9269018.
He said that the Murree District Administration has established special facilitation centers at thirteen points for the assistance of tourists and emergency response.
CTP Rawalpindi, administration stress adherence to traffic rules
The CTP Rawalpindi and administration have directed the citizens to follow traffic rules, especially at a time when there is a huge influx of tourists into Murree.
The advisory said that the tourists are requested to use petrol-powered vehicles while CNG-powered vehicles have been strictly prohibited which may create problems in cars due to the extreme cold in the snow. Asthma patients and families with infants are also advised to avoid traveling to Murree.
