PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Akhtar Hayat Khan, announced on Thursday that the Command-and-Control Centres (CC&C) have been established and activated in 12 districts of the province.
He said these centers are equipped with 2500 CCTV cameras, artificial intelligence, and facial recognition systems. With the help of these CC&Cs, more than 800 locations, including crowded markets, will be continuously monitored.
IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan highlighted the success of these state-of-the-art CCTV cameras in identifying and apprehending 239 suspects. He emphasized that the CC&C monitors 260 critical points in the city, including Cantt, Faqirabad, and other areas.
Providing specific details, he mentioned that the Mardan command and control center is equipped with 134 high-resolution cameras covering a monitored area of 144 square kilometers. Additionally, DI Khan has 304 CCTV cameras, Bannu has 200, Mansehra has 203, Swabi has 238, Haripur has 210, Abbottabad has 200, Lower Dir has 203, and Hangu has 62.
The police chief underscored the ongoing rapid progress in establishing command and control room centers in other districts of the province to maintain the law and order situation in the province. —APP
