KARACHI: The Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Justice (R) Maqbool Baqar, on Monday engaged in talks with US Ambassador Donald Blome, to foster bilateral relations between the two countries particularly in education sector.
The meeting was held in the presence of US Consul General Conrad Tribble, Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahim Sheikh, and Secretary of Investment Raheem Sharik.
A central point of discussion was the government’s initiatives for economic improvement in the region. Both Chief Minister Sindh and Ambassador Blome exchanged views on strategies to enhance economic prospects and development in the area.
A noteworthy aspect of the dialogue was the mention of the 200 schools constructed in Sindh through collaboration with the US government. The leaders deliberated on the impact of these educational institutions on the local communities and future prospects for educational development.
Chief Minister Sindh underscored the government’s commitment to advancing children’s education, emphasizing ongoing efforts for its improvement. Notably, the US government is actively supporting the Sindh government in addressing nutritional challenges among children, as stated by Chief Minister Sindh during the discussions.
CM Sindh acknowledged the substantial support extended by the US government to Sindh in various sectors, including education, health, and flood relief.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s dedication to enhancing the quality of education by focusing on the training of teachers. The emphasis on teacher training reflects a broader commitment to uplifting educational standards and ensuring a brighter future for the youth in Sindh.
